CAPE CENTRAL’S FAN SECURITY PROTOCOL FOR THE GIRLS BASKETBALL JAMBOREE -- Cape Central’s security protocols for fans at tonight’s (11/19/24) Girls Basketball Jamboree: No weapons or prohibited items allowed. Spectators may be screened for prohibited items prior to entry. No bags allowed EXCEPT clear stadium bags (maximum size 12x6x12). No students 6th grade or below will be admitted without a parent or guardian present. No exit and re-entry. All visitors are subject to Board Policy. Please Share! REMINDER -- PICTURE DAY AT CES AND CHS ON NOVEMBER 20, 2024 – **Elementary school picture retakes and classroom pictures will be taken by Cheekwood Studio on November 20th beginning at 8:30 a.m. **Junior/Senior High School individual student school pictures and picture retakes will be taken by Cheekwood Studio on November 20th. Picture packets are available outside the high school office. If you did not get your picture taken in July, you need to get your picture taken. If you need your pictures retaken, please bring the pictures you received.

JR/SR BETA CLUB BUTTER BRAID FUNDRAISER ORDERS DUE ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22 - Chaffee Junior/Senior Beta Club is selling Butter Braids. The last day to order Butter Braids is on Friday, November 22. They will be delivered on Tuesday, December 10. This is the perfect easy dish to pop in the oven for the holidays! There are 11 flavors to choose from: Apple, Bavarian Creme, Blueberry Cream Cheese, Cherry, Cinnamon, Cream Cheese, Strawberry, Caramel, Four Cheese and Herb, and Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese icing. Each roll is $18 and can roughly serve 11 people. If you would like to purchase one, please reach out to a Junior/Senior High Beta member. If you cannot get in contact with one, reach out to the Beta Club Facebook page. The money raised will help fund state projects as well as help fund our national bound members! **Note to Beta Club Members -- Any Beta member who has sold butter braids needs to turn in their forms and money no later than 2:54 p.m. on Friday, November 22nd. Late orders will not be accepted.

REMINDER -- BETA CLUB GOBBLE GRAM SALES END ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 20 -- Beta Club is selling Gobble Grams from November 11-20. Gobble Grams can be purchased for both Elementary and Jr/Sr High School students. They are $1.00. Beta Club members will be selling Gobble Grams during Junior High and Senior High lunch periods at the High School. You may also purchase them from Mrs. Rodgers. Cash and check will be accepted. They will be delivered to students on Friday, November 22nd. They will be delivered to the Homerooms (at the elementary) or the students’ 6th Hour class (at the high school).

HERO’S HARVEST BREAKFAST SPONSORED BY JR/SR BETA CLUB FOR ALL LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS AND FIRST RESPONDERS ON NOVEMBER 22 -- The Chaffee Junior/Senior Beta Club is excited to honor our local heroes in November! On Friday, November 22, Chaffee Jr/Sr Beta Club would like to invite all Chaffee first responders to join us for a hearty breakfast at the High School Activity Center. Beta Club will be serving pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, fruit, and a variety of beverages from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. For those on call, there will be to-go boxes available so you can enjoy breakfast with us, even if you’re on the move. Currently, this breakfast is specifically for Chaffee first responders. However, if we receive enough support, we’d love to open it to surrounding areas as well! To make this event a success, we’re accepting donations of food items, disposable pans, plates, cups, and other supplies. Your support would be greatly appreciated and will help us create a memorable morning for our community’s heroes!

REMINDER – VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION – Monday, November 11, is our Veterans Day Assembly at Chaffee High School at 9:30 a.m. CHS Student Council would like to invite all veterans and community members to join us for our Veterans Day Celebration. Student Council would like to encourage all students to wear Red/White/Blue if possible. Veterans are also invited to a breakfast from 8:30-9:15 a.m. at the high school. The Veterans Day Assembly will be led by CHS Student Council Officers. The Guest Speaker is United States Army Sergeant Kade Sullivan. Music will be by our High School Band, High School Choir, and the 3rd and 4th Grade Choir. We will also be joined by St. Ambrose School and grades 3-6 from Chaffee Elementary.

DISTRICT FOOTBALL GAME – FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH -- The Chaffee Red Devils will play the Charleston Blue Jays in a District Football Contest on Friday, November 8th (at Charleston) at 7:00 pm. Admission is $6. Chaffee fans will sit on the east side of the bleachers. No bags will be allowed unless they are smaller than a 3x5 index card. Chairs are allowed but will be checked. Charleston will have a concession stand for the game. Player Bus Departure is at 4:15 pm. Good Luck Chaffee Red Devils Football! Let’s Go Big Red!!

UPDATE!! CANCELLED -- CHAFFEE COMMUNITY CARE PORTAL FALL CARNIVAL – After much discussion, the Chaffee Community Care Portal has made the difficult decision to cancel the Fall Carnival scheduled for this Saturday, November 9th, due to the incoming weather forecast. Please understand that this was not a decision that was made lightly and many alternate options were explored, but it was felt that it is best for the sponsors, volunteers, vendors, and community to make the announcement now instead of trying to wait it out. **The Community Care Portal WILL continue with the Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt. Friday, November 8th, is the final day for the Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt and arrangements will be made for the kids to pick up their prizes. The Community Care Portal will also have cakes from the cake walk that will now be available for purchase for anyone interested. Please continue to watch the Chaffee Community Care Portal page for additional details to pick up scavenger hunt prizes and how to purchase cakes. The Community Care Portal apologizes for this inconvenience and appreciates everyone’s understanding and continued support!

CONGRATULATIONS ALL DISTRICT BAND! Select members of the Chaffee Jr High Band, Chaffee High School Band, and Chaffee HS Jazz Band traveled to Jackson High School on Tuesday, November 5th, to audition for their respective All-District Bands. Over 450 students from all over Southeast Missouri were registered for this event, and we are very proud of our Chaffee Red Devils selected: High School All-District Band -- Eve O'Neal - 1st Chair Trumpet; Jacob Myers - 5th Chair Baritone; Keira Biggs - 18th Chair Clarinet. Junior High All-District Band -- Brandon Turner - 13th Chair Clarinet; Annabelle Goodholm - 17th Chair Clarinet. All-District Jazz Band -- Jackson Allen - Bass Guitar. Congratulations to these talented musicians!

PJ FRIDAY AT JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL SPONSORED BY SENIOR BETA CLUB ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8 (PROCEEDS TO ALZHEIMER’S FOUNDATION) -- November is Alzheimer's Awareness month. The Senior Beta Club is hosting Pajama Day every Friday at the Jr/Sr High School during the month of November to raise money for the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. The first Pajama Day will be Friday, November 8th. For $1.00, students can wear their favorite pair of pajamas. Beta members will be at each door with stickers to show you have paid.

ANNUAL SENIOR CITIZEN THANKSGIVING DINNER (SPONSORED BY FBLA & FCCLA) ON NOVEMBER 14TH! The annual FBLA/FCCLA Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Thursday, November 14, in the High School Activity Center. The Dinner is at 5:00 pm with carryouts beginning at 5:30 pm. Tickets are available from the High School Office or the Chaffee Nutrition Center. Dinner is FREE to all Chaffee Senior Citizens. Everyone attending must have a ticket to receive a meal.
