LAST DAY OF SCHOOL - FRIDAY, MAY 15 AT 1:30 P.M.
The Last Day of School will be on Friday, May 15, with an Early Dismissal at 1:30 p.m.
~ Parents/Guardians will need to pick up students’ medication from the nurse’s office by Friday, May 15.
~ JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL - All Chromebooks, Chargers, Cases, and books will need to be returned before leaving.
~ JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL - Please check to see if you owe any balance for lunch, shop projects and library items.

CES PLAY DAY 2026 - MAY 15, 2026
CES Play Day is on Friday, May 15.
This is the last day of school, and it will be a half day.
Play Day will be from 8:30-12:30. Most of the rotations from station to station will be approximately 30 minutes.
We have a 1:30 dismissal that day; however, Play Day activities will end at 12:30.
If you wish to check your child out early that day, please let their classroom teacher or Ms. Ashlyn in the office know so we can account for them at the end of the day.
For lunch that day, the cafeteria will be serving a to-go plate with corn dog or peanut butter and jelly and sides. They may eat this lunch or purchase something from the concession stand. Please make sure they let their teacher know that morning if they are NOT eating lunch at school so we can prepare the correct amount.
Play Day is open to any family member who wishes to attend.
Please bring your lawn chair if you plan on staying for awhile as seating is very limited.
Areas for racing and games will be clearly marked.
High school students have finals and are not to be checked out to attend play day!

GRADUATION 2026 ON THURSDAY, MAY 14
The 2026 Chaffee High School Graduation ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 14, at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Gym.
Gym doors open at 6:00 p.m.
Each graduate was given seven (7) tickets allowing their guests to sit in the floor area.
The gym bleachers will be available and open to other family members, friends, and the public.

SENIOR GRADUATION DAY REMINDERS
SENIOR BREAKFAST AND VIDEO AND GRADUATION PRACTICE
~ Seniors should arrive at school on Thursday, May 14, at normal school time (8:00 a.m.) for the Senior Breakfast & Senior Video in Mr. Atkins’ room.
~ After the Senior Breakfast and Video, Seniors will proceed to high school gym for Graduation practice. Graduation practice is MANDATORY!
GRADUATION LINE UP AND PICTURES AND GRADUATION TICKETS
~ Seniors should arrive at the HS Activity Center by 5:30 p.m.
~ Individual and group graduation pictures will be taken before Graduation, and Seniors will then be lined up for Graduation.
~ Gym doors will open to family, friends, and the public at 6:00 p.m.

May 14 and 15 (Thursday and Friday) – Underclassmen Finals (Grades 7-11)
Underclassmen finals (for Grades 7-11) will be as follows on Thursday (May 14) and Friday (May 15).
The Friday schedule is due to shorter class times needed to complete finals.
We will not release for the next hour until all classes are completed with their finals on Friday.

KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION REMINDER – MAY 12, AT 6:00 PM
Kindergarten Graduation will be on Tuesday, May 12, at 6:00 p.m.
We invite parents/guardians, grandparents, family, and friends to celebrate the graduating class of 2038!
No tickets will be needed.
5:30 p.m. - Students only will report to their classroom where they will get dressed in their cap and gown. Teachers will have their cap and gown waiting for them in the classroom. Typically, you can only see a small portion of their clothing. Please follow school dress code. Keep in mind they are wearing caps so plan hair styles accordingly.
6:00 p.m. - The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m.
** After graduation, students will go to the risers for pictures. Children can be picked up from that location after pictures.
** Also, please remember to pick up your student’s memory box from their class table after graduation is over!

CONGRATULATIONS KOLBEY ESTES – SINGLE SEASON RUNS SCORED RECORD
Congratulations to Kolbey Estes for breaking the Single Season Runs Scored Record with his 42nd run of the season tonight in a 2-1 win over Sikeston on Friday, May 8.
The previous record of 41 was set by Jeremy Lynn in 2001.

CONGRATULATIONS CHS TRACK & FIELD SECTIONAL QUALIFIERS -- CARLYANNE COSSOU, TY ATKINS, ZEKE WESSEL, GRACIE GOVREAU, AND MAKENNA NIXON!
Congratulations to the following Chaffee Track & Field athletes who placed at the Class 2 District 1 Track and Field Meet at Saxony Lutheran on Saturday, May 9. These athletes will now compete on Saturday, May 16, at the Class 2 Sectional 1 Meet at Dexter High School.

Carlyanne Cossou – Carlyanne earned All District honors 4 times. She placed 2nd in the 200 with a PR time of 25.94 and was District Champion in the 100m Hurdles (15.97), 300m hurdles (46.77), and Triple Jump (10.95m/35-11.00).
Ty Atkins – Ty was District Champion in the javelin. His winning throw covered a distance of 51.27m/168-2.00. He remains undefeated in the javelin within the Southeast Missouri region.
Zeke Wessel – Zeke placed 3rd in the 110m hurdles finishing with a time of 18.96.
Gracie Govreau – Gracie placed 4th in the triple jump with a seasonal PR jump of 9.41m/30-10.50.
Makenna Nixon – Makenna placed 4th in the high jump (1.37m/4-6.00).

SPRING BAND CONCERT ON MAY 12
The Spring Band Concert will be on Tuesday, May 12, at 6:00 p.m. at the High School Gym.
The Junior High and High School bands will be performing.
Please join us for an evening of music!

CHAFFEE INDUSTRIAL ARTS FAIR AND ICE CREAM SOCIAL ON MAY 13
The Chaffee Industrial Arts Fair and Ice Cream Social will be held on Wednesday, May 13th, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Chaffee Junior/Senior High School in the Industrial Arts Classroom and Shop. (Enter through Garage Door by HS Activity Center).
Projects from our Woodworking, Robotics, CAD, Photography, 8th grade, and Technology classes will be on display. Students will also be demonstrating some of our CNC, Laser, and 3D printing equipment.
This event is open to the public and there is no cost to view projects and tour our "State of the Art" Chaffee Industrial Arts - CIA Robotics labs and classroom.
There will also be an Ice Cream Social at the same time. For those that would like a sweet treat, there will be sundaes, desserts, and floats available for purchase as well. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for kids (10 and under). All proceeds will help cover costs of the CIA Program for materials, equipment, and tools.
Students will also be set up to sell CIA shirts, crewnecks, and hoodies.
We hope you can make it. Please share with others to help get the word out.

Chaffee Red Devils will play in the District Baseball Tournament on Friday, May 15, at 2:00 p.m. at Bernie. The Red Devils will play the winner of the Puxico / Charleston game.

Senior Finals will be on the following days:

Seniors Last Day will be on Friday, May 8.
The Senior Walkout will be at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Friday, May 8.
Seniors must attend classes that morning (including CTC) to participate.

CES AND JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL FINE ARTS NIGHT ON MAY 7TH
Chaffee Elementary and Jr/Sr High Fine Arts Night will take place on Thursday, May 7th, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the elementary school.
The night will feature student artwork from both the Elementary and Jr/Sr High art programs as well as musical performances by the 5th and 6th Grade and the CHS Choir.
Please join us for an evening with the Fine Arts!
