CONGRATS CARLYANNE COSSOU - STATE TRACK & FIELD MEET!
Congratulations to Carlyanne Cossou – the 2026 Class 2 State Track & Field 100m hurdles State Champ and the 2026 Class 2 State Track & Field 300m hurdles State Champ.
Carlyanne won her second consecutive 100m hurdles Class 2 State Championship. Her PR time of 14.43 smashes her previous best of 14.77!
Carlyanne won her 2nd consecutive 300m hurdles Class 2 State Championship with a time of 44.43!
Carlyanne placed 4th in the Class 2 Triple Jump with a jump of 11.14m (36.6 feet). This is her third consecutive year placing in the top 4 in Triple Jump!
Carlyanne placed 9th in the 200m dash!
After three years of track and field, Carlyanne has 9 individual all-state honors with 4 individual state championships.

CONGRATS TY ATKINS - STATE TRACK & FIELD MEET!
Ty Atkins placed third in the Class 2 Missouri State Track & Field Meet in the Javelin with a throw of 52.22m (171.4 feet).
This concludes an incredible Track & Field season where Ty was Conference Champion, SEMO All-Division Champion, District Champion, All-Sectional, and All-State.

CONGRATS MAKENNA NIXON - STATE TRACK & FIELD MEET!
Makenna Nixon placed 14th in the Class 2 Missouri State Track & Field Meet in the High Jump at Jefferson City.
It concludes a fantastic season where Makenna was Conference Champ, All District, and Sectional Champ in the High Jump.
She also set a personal PR of 1.5m (5’0).

CHS Red Devils captured their 4th straight District Title after defeating Bernie 3-2 on Monday, May 18.
Red Devils advance to the Class 2 State Sectionals and will play Veritas Christian Academy on May 25.

REMINDER – CHS ALL SPORTS ATHLETIC BANQUET IS MAY 20
The CHS All Sports Athletic Banquet will be on Wednesday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the Activity Center.
~ This is for ALL High School sports.
~ There will be a meal and award presentations for each sport.
~ The Mark Whitaker Senior Male Student Athlete Award and the Female Senior Student Athlete Award will be presented.
~ Athletes eat free and Guests are $10 for the meal.
~ The meal will be a Chinese themed menu.
~ The Booster Club is seeking people to make desserts to be served.

REMINDER – SUMMER SCHOOL BEGINS ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 20
Summer School will be May 20 – June 11 from 7:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
All classes (Grades K-12) will be at the High School.
Breakfast and Lunch will be served and is free for anyone 18 and under.

CONGRATULATIONS STATE TRACK & FIELD QUALIFIERS!
Chaffee participated at the Track and Field Class 2 Sectional 1 Meet on Saturday, May 16, at Dexter High School. Congratulations to the following Chaffee athletes who qualified for the Missouri High School State Track & Field Meet in Jefferson City on May 22-23.
Carlyanne Cossou qualified for the State Track & Field meet in 4 individual events. She placed 4th in the 200 (PR 25.79) and was Class 2 Sectional 1 Champion in the 100m hurdles (PR 14.88), 300m hurdles (45.98), and Triple Jump (10.89). She will run prelims in her 3 running events on Friday, May 22 and will compete in the Triple Jump on May 23.
Ty Atkins qualified for the State Track & Field Meet by placing second in the javelin. Sitting in 6th place after 3 attempts, he went big on his final throw finishing
with a distance of 51.43m/168-9. He will compete at State on Saturday, May 23, at 12:30 p.m.
Makenna Nixon won the High Jump (1.45m/4-9.00) at the Class 2 Sectional 1 Track & Field Meet. She will compete at the State Track & Field Meet on Friday, May 22, at 9:30 a.m.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL - FRIDAY, MAY 15 AT 1:30 P.M.
The Last Day of School will be on Friday, May 15, with an Early Dismissal at 1:30 p.m.
~ Parents/Guardians will need to pick up students’ medication from the nurse’s office by Friday, May 15.
~ JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL - All Chromebooks, Chargers, Cases, and books will need to be returned before leaving.
~ JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL - Please check to see if you owe any balance for lunch, shop projects and library items.

CES PLAY DAY 2026 - MAY 15, 2026
CES Play Day is on Friday, May 15.
This is the last day of school, and it will be a half day.
Play Day will be from 8:30-12:30. Most of the rotations from station to station will be approximately 30 minutes.
We have a 1:30 dismissal that day; however, Play Day activities will end at 12:30.
If you wish to check your child out early that day, please let their classroom teacher or Ms. Ashlyn in the office know so we can account for them at the end of the day.
For lunch that day, the cafeteria will be serving a to-go plate with corn dog or peanut butter and jelly and sides. They may eat this lunch or purchase something from the concession stand. Please make sure they let their teacher know that morning if they are NOT eating lunch at school so we can prepare the correct amount.
Play Day is open to any family member who wishes to attend.
Please bring your lawn chair if you plan on staying for awhile as seating is very limited.
Areas for racing and games will be clearly marked.
High school students have finals and are not to be checked out to attend play day!

GRADUATION 2026 ON THURSDAY, MAY 14
The 2026 Chaffee High School Graduation ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 14, at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Gym.
Gym doors open at 6:00 p.m.
Each graduate was given seven (7) tickets allowing their guests to sit in the floor area.
The gym bleachers will be available and open to other family members, friends, and the public.

SENIOR GRADUATION DAY REMINDERS
SENIOR BREAKFAST AND VIDEO AND GRADUATION PRACTICE
~ Seniors should arrive at school on Thursday, May 14, at normal school time (8:00 a.m.) for the Senior Breakfast & Senior Video in Mr. Atkins’ room.
~ After the Senior Breakfast and Video, Seniors will proceed to high school gym for Graduation practice. Graduation practice is MANDATORY!
GRADUATION LINE UP AND PICTURES AND GRADUATION TICKETS
~ Seniors should arrive at the HS Activity Center by 5:30 p.m.
~ Individual and group graduation pictures will be taken before Graduation, and Seniors will then be lined up for Graduation.
~ Gym doors will open to family, friends, and the public at 6:00 p.m.
